GDVV Hybrid Fiber Power Cable

GDVV Hybrid Fiber Power Cable

GDVV Fiber Power Hybrid Cable integrates two bow-type drop fiber cables with power conductors, providing a space-saving, efficient solution for powering and connecting remote telecom and surveillance devices in outdoor or FTTA environments.

The GDVV Fiber Power Hybrid Cable combines dual bow-type drop fiber units and electrical copper wires into one unified cable structure. This design allows simultaneous high-speed data transmission and power delivery, especially for 5G RRUs, surveillance cameras, and other remote devices that require both connectivity and power. Its flat, compact structure simplifies installation in constrained pathways or ducts.

1. Structure & Design

  • Fiber Units:

    • Contains two bow-type drop cables, each with 1 to 2 cores (typically G.657.A1 or G.657.A2 fibers)

    • Each bow-type cable includes:

      • Tight-buffered fiber

      • FRP strength members on both sides

      • LSZH or TPU outer sheath, flame-retardant and UV-resistant

  • Power Conductors:

    • Two or more copper wires, typically 2.5 mm² to 6 mm², tinned or bare

    • Used for powering RRUs, cameras, or PoE devices

    • Voltage rating: 300/500V or as required

  • Cable Structure:

    • Flat or figure-8 shape with two optical bow cables placed parallel to the copper wires

    • Reinforced with aramid yarn for added tensile strength

    • Entire cable sheathed with LSZH or TPU for outdoor protection

  • Outer Jacket:

    • Flame-retardant, UV-resistant, abrasion-resistant

    • Color: typically black; custom colors available

  • Dimensions:

    • Width and thickness vary depending on conductor size; typically 6–12 mm wide

2. Applications

  • FTTA (Fiber to the Antenna)

  • 5G/4G RRU connections

  • Surveillance systems (CCTV, PTZ camera)

  • Smart poles and IoT nodes

  • Campus and industrial outdoor installations

  • Any scenario requiring fiber + power combo in a compact form

3. Advantages

  • All-in-one design: Combines data and power in a single hybrid cable
  • Dual bow-type drop cables ensure fiber redundancy or multi-device support
  • Compact and flat profile: Easy routing through ducts, trays, or wall mounts
  • Flame-retardant and UV-resistant sheath suitable for indoor/outdoor use
  • Fully dielectric optical units: Safe near high-voltage environments
  • Reduces labor and material cost by eliminating the need for separate power/fiber cables

4. FAQs

  • Q1: Why use two bow-type cables instead of one larger fiber cable?
Using two separate bow-type drop cables allows for fiber redundancy, multi-service connectivity, or independent routing to different devices (e.g., dual RRUs or camera + sensor).
  • Q2: Is this cable suitable for outdoor tower or pole installation?
Yes. The TPU/LSZH outer sheath resists UV, rain, and mechanical wear, making it ideal for FTTA and outdoor poles.
  • Q3: Can this cable carry PoE (Power over Ethernet)?
If paired with appropriate devices, yes. However, the copper conductors are typically used for DC power, not Ethernet data. Fiber handles the data.
  • Q4: Can the copper and fiber sections be split at the end?
Yes. The bow-type cables and power wires can be easily separated for individual terminations.
  • Q5: Do you offer this cable pre-terminated?
Yes. We offer custom termination services, including SC/LC connectors on fiber and pre-crimped terminals or bare wire on the power cores.
